GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – With another impressive run Saturday, Kenyon College senior Jenna Willett extended her collegiate career by one more week. Willett placed tenth among 244 runners at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Cross Country Championship and earned a spot in next Saturday's NCAA Division III Championship race, which will be held at Hanover College in Hanover, Indiana.

Willett ran a 22:07.9 in Saturday's 6k race, which was hosted by Calvin College. Her efforts not only yielded an NCAA Championship berth, but her third consecutive All-Region honor. Additionally, she helped lift the Ladies to a tenth-place team finish with a total of 242 points. Host Calvin won the regional title with 54 points. Oberlin College was second with 104 points. Both those teams gained automatic entry into next Saturday's NCAA Championship.

Willett, a 2012 All-American, was one of seven individuals not on teams earning NCAA berths to qualify for the national race. Last season, she ran a 21:53.0 and placed 29th at the NCAA Championship.

Lizzie Halper also played a big role in the Ladies' regional placement Saturday. The junior posted a time of 22:45.5 and took 29th place, which was also good for All-Region honors. The result was a drastic improvement for Halper, who last year placed 74th at the regional championship with a time of 23:56.7.

Other scoring runners for the Ladies included Abby Arace, Tory Bruch, and Kerry Strader. Arace, a sophomore, took 53rd place with a time of 23:14.7. Bruch, a senior, was 67th with a 23:30.2 and Strader, another senior, was 91st with a time of 23:58.8.
