SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – An overtime goal from junior Will Lowe lifted the Kenyon College men's lacrosse team to a Saturday afternoon 7-6 win over the host Wittenberg University Tigers. The Lords' win was their third straight and was their first in North Coast Athletic Conference competition this season.

Trailing 6-5, the Lords got the ball to sophomore Fritz Waine, who ended up firing in the game-tying goal with just 42 seconds left on the clock.

The ensuing faceoff was won by Kenyon's Jared Jacob. That set up a final attack for the Lords, but Lowe's shot with just three ticks to go sailed high of the Wittenberg net.

Jacobs, a freshman, won 13-of-17 faceoffs throughout the game, but it was Wittenberg's Nick Bergenty who took the opening faceoff of the overtime period. The Tiger possession resulted in a shot from Thomas Fuss, but Kenyon goalkeeper Patrick Shevelson was in position to make the crucial save. It was one of a dozen saves on the day for Shevelson, who is now 3-0 as the Lords starting keeper.

Kenyon (4-4, 1-0 NCAC) then moved the ball upfield and scored the game-winning goal with 1:44 showing on the clock. Lowe was credited with the goal, his third of the game and ninth of the season. Chris Pappalardo was credited with the assist.

Waine had two of the Lords' other goals, while Bobby Weiner and Justin Coleman scored one apiece.

Wittenberg (4-2, 0-1 NCAC) got three goals from Thomas Fuss and three assists from Andrew Fuss. Those numbers helped the Tigers take a 2-1 lead after one period and a 3-2 lead at the break. Kenyon outscored Wittenberg 2-1 in the third period to take the game into the fourth all square at 4-4.
