The Kenyon College men's soccer team is ranked No. 1 in two major polls. NSCAA POLLD3SOCCER.COM POLLGAMBIER, Ohio – The Kenyon College men's soccer team's storied history took another step forward this week as both major polls, D3soccer.com and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), moved the Lords to the top spot of the rankings.Â
Kenyon's 1993 team had a 13-0-4 record at the end of the regular season and earned a No. 1 rank heading into the postseason. That Lords' team finished with a 16-1-4 overall record.
Â
The year's Lords team started the season ranked ninth in both poll services.
In the D3soccer.com poll, Kenyon climbed to be the second-ranked squad a little over a week ago. Following a 2-0 record last week and defending national champion Tufts University dropping its first match, the Lords moved to the top national spot.
Â
In the NSCAA poll, the Lords jumped to the No. 3 ranking two weeks ago and have moved up one spot each week since.
Kenyon will put its top ranking on the line tomorrow when it hosts 18th-ranked (NSCAA) Case Western Reserve University at 4:30 p.m. at Mavec Field.
