Four Owls compete at NCAA Diving Regional

GRANVILLE, Ohio -- A quartet of Kenyon College divers participated in Friday's NCAA Division III Region I Diving Championship, held at Denison University. The event featured one-meter competition and saw first-year Nadia Milovich lead the way for the Owls.

Milovich logged a final score of 355.70 and placed 21st among the pool of 33 divers. Her best dive was her fifth, the forward 1½ somersault 1 twist free, for which she earned a score of 37.40. Milovich also gained a score of 36.00 for her inward 1½ somersault pike.

Senior Naomi Kennel was next for Kenyon. She finished in 24th place with a final score of 349.95. Her top score was a 37.95, which she earned twice. Those identical scores followed her forward 2 somersault pike, and her back 1 somersault 1½ twist free.


Right behind those two in the final standings were sophomores Lucy Cassell-Kelley and Olive O'Dorisio. Cassell-Kelley averaged 31.55 per dive, finished with a total score of 347.10, and placed 25th. Meanwhile, O'Dorisio averaged 29.75 a dive, earned a final score of 327.25 and claimed 28th place.


The same four Kenyon divers will return to Denison on Saturday to compete in the Regional Championship for three-meter competition.
