There is no program in the NCAA quite like the Kenyon College men's swimming and diving program. The team owns an unequalled track record for helping swimmers improve the limits of their potential, while constantly improving their performances over a four-year career.
The continual focus on improvement has made the Lords swimming and diving program the most successful in the history of the NCAA. From 1980 through 2010, the Lords won 31 consecutive Division III national championships. No other team, in any division or any sport of the NCAA, can come close to that record-breaking accomplishment. The program has also won the last three NCAA Championships for an overall total of 34.
On an individual basis, Kenyon Lord swimmers and divers have combined to win 175 national event championships and 120 relay event championships. They have gained nealry 2,000 All-America awards and currently hold nine of 18 NCAA Division III record times.
Not only is the team successful in the pool, but in the classroom as well. Twenty-six Kenyon male swimmers concluded their careers by earning NCAA Postgraduate Scholarships. Fifteen different Kenyon swimmers and divers earned a combined total of 18 CoSIDA Academic All-America awards, including four Academic All-America Team Member of the Year honorees, and well over a hundred Lords have been named CSCAA All-Academic swimmers. Last season, while taking the 2014 title in Indianapolis, Indiana, the Lords maintained a 3.23 cumulative grade point average.
The Kenyon swim program constantly pushes the envelope of small college swimming, competing against the biggest and best college and university programs. During the 2013-14 season, the Lords participated in dual meets and invitationals with the likes of several Division I programs, including The Ohio State University, Northwestern University, Michigan State University, and the University of Pennsylvania.
