When the discussion about Kenyon swimming turns to celebrated student-athletes, one name that arises regularly is that or Erin Finneran, who was the second Lady to earn the maximum possible 28 All-America certificates in her career. During her four seasons in Gambier, Finneran won 21 NCAA Division III event championships, was named the 1986 national Swimmer of the Year, and swam a leg on three relays that qualified for the Division I Championship in 1987. Finneran capped her career as a recipient of an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship in 1989.
