When Julia Kipka advanced to the NCAA Division III quarterfinals in 1988, her wins in the singles tournament were the first ever by a Kenyon female on the national stage. As an encore, Kipka returned to the Elite Eight and added a runner-up finish in the national doubles tournament in the 1989 season, after which she was named an All-American. During Kipka's career, the Ladies earned a pair of national runner-up team finishes to go along with a 66-9 combined record.
