Becker named Ohio’s Runner of the Year

GAMBIER, Ohio -- More postseason accolades came to Kenyon College Ladies cross country runner Emma Becker over the weekend.

The Ohio Intercollegiate Cross Country Coaches Association named Becker its Ohio NCAA Division III Women's Runner of the Year. She's the first Kenyon student-athlete to win that award and it marked another prestigious honor for the Ladies' standout sophomore.

During the fall, Becker became the fourth Kenyon runner and first since 1999 to win a North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) individual cross country championship. In doing so, she was named the NCAC's Runner of the Year.

Becker also qualified for the NCAA Division III Championship in Louisville, Kentucky on November 23 and earned an All-American finish. It was the program's first since Jenna Willett attained All-American status in 2012.
