The Lords captured their ninth straight NCAC Tournament title with a 6-1 win over
DePauw on Sunday.

GAMBIER, Ohio - Kenyon College continued its near decade-long North Coast Athletic Conference Men's Tournament Championship victories with a 6-1 win over DePauw University Sunday afternoon at VandenBerg Courts. The Lords' tourney title was their ninth in a row and 18th overall.

Unlike last year when the Lords had to rally after losing all three doubles flights, Kenyon took a 3-0 advantage against the Tigers in doubles competition.

It started at No. 3 when Peter Hazlett and Weston Noall claimed an 8-5 win against Patrick Farrell and Harold Martin. The second doubles team of Colin Haas and Wade Heerboth earned the Lords' next point with an 8-4 win. Kenyon kept the momentum going at No. 1 as Sam Geier and Tim Rosensteel took Eric Vannatta and Alex Kaczkowski to an 8-6 count.

Singles play saw DePauw earn their first match point at No. 4 when Farrell won in straight sets. The Lords responded right back for a big point at No. 2 singles though. Geier dropped the first set 6-2 to Kaczkowski but won the second and third sets 6-1 and 6-2, respectively.

With a 4-1 lead, the Lords' championship-clinching point came from Rob Turlington. The junior who was injured last year during Kenyon's tournament run won in straight sets at No. 3.

Heerboth closed the scoring with a three-set win at the top singles spot over Chris Bertolini.

Kenyon will wait and see where they'll compete in the upcoming NCAA Division III Tournament which begins May 8.
