Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Lords stymie Golden Eagles, 1-0

DANVILLE, Ky. – The fifth-ranked Kenyon men's soccer team didn't allow a single shot on goal to Spalding University on Friday night as the Lords claimed a 1-0 victory and improved their record to 3-1.

Kenyon out-shot Spalding by a whopping 24-4 margin on a match played at Centre College's campus. The Lords will look to win again tomorrow night when they play the host Colonels at 7 p.m.

Within the game's first 18 minutes, the Lords fired five times on the Golden Eagles net. The scoreless tie then was broken at the 29:44 mark. Kenyon's only needed score of the contest came from senior to senior, Oliver Wynn to Henry Myers.

A through ball from Wynn was finished by Myers, his second goal of the year. For the final 15 minutes of the first half, Spalding was denied any attempt at finding an equalizer.

The Lords' defense in the second half continued to dominate allowing just two shots. Spalding's Mirza Ugarak and Austin Lanham attempted those but Kenyon blocked both.

While no real pressure came freshman goalie Ian McInturf's way, he did earn his first clean sheet of his career.

Kenyon will try to move their record to 4-1 tomorrow night against Centre. The Colonels are looking for their first win over the Lords since 2013.
