Kenyon Golf Performance Lab - rotator
The Kenyon College Golf Performance Laboratory opened in March 2014.
The Kenyon College golf team unveiled its newest training facility, the Kenyon Golf Performance Laboratory, in March 2014. With additional space and state-of-the-art technology, the Owls will now be able to more deeply and accurately analyze their play and have the ability to train year-round.

The training facility is fully equipped with a synthetic putting surface, supplied by X-Grass through Tour Greens, with varying slopes and breaks to provide athletes the ability to putt from multiple locations for different looks at the pin. The putting area is outlined with synthetic fringe and rough for additional chipping practice.

Beyond the practice green is space designed for hitting golf balls at full speed. The space can be divided into one or two hitting bays. Each bay is lined with netting and contains a surface material that compares favorably to a typical fairway.

The Golf Performance Laboratory is equipped with the Trackman system to provide precise swing and ball flight analysis. Trackman, which is used on both the men's and women's professional golf tours, can track ball flight, spin rate, distance, club head speed, trajectory, club face data, and countless other measurables. The software can also set up simulations to conduct specifically designed practices and provide a virtual layout of particular courses in order to plan for future events. Additionally, players can track their progress over a given season with scores given by Trackman. Those scores can be compared to other golfers' marks from the collegiate, amateur, and professional ranks.

The facility is located on the lower level of the Lowry Center among the racquetball courts. The Golf Performance Laboratory is for use by the varsity golf team, only.
