GRANVILLE, Ohio – Kenyon College freshman diver Drew Albrecht had the top score on the 3-meter board and helped the Lords sit atop of the standings after the opening day of the North Coast Athletic Conference Championship.

Kenyon notched 153 points while Wabash College registered 133 for second place.

A newcomer from Aurora, Ohio, Albrecht tallied 500.05 points and became just the fourth Lord – Ryder Sammons, Derek Zurn & John Butcher - to win the 3-meter event. That point total also met qualifying standards.

Fellow classmate Mason Fishell added a runner-up finish on the 3-meter board and contributed 31 points to the team total.

The night's other event at Denison's Trumbull Aquatics Center was the 800-yard freestyle relay. Kenyon's 'A' team of Reilly Shields. Mick Bartholomew, Bryan Fitzgerald and Connor Rumpit claimed the runner-up spot with a season-best and 'B' cut time of 6:32.86. That group was off 0.76 seconds from the Big Red's 'A' squad.

Tomorrow's preliminaries start at 9:30 a.m. with finals beginning at 6 p.m. Live video and results will be provided.
