Kenyon women down Denison, 192-108

RESULTS

GRANVILLE, Ohio -- The Kenyon College women's swimming and diving team renewed its annual, early-season dual meet with rival Denison University on Saturday. The visiting Ladies racked up a dozen event wins and posted a 192-108 victory over the host Big Red.

The Ladies were boosted by sweeps from Olivia Smith in the backstroke events and by Jennah Fadely in the breaststroke events. Smith won the 100-yard backstroke in 57.14 and later took the 200 in 2:05.54. Fadely was victorious in the 100-yard breaststroke by clocking in at 1:04.15. She went on to win the 200 in a time of 2:19.86. Both of Fadely's times cleared the NCAA 'B' cut for NCAA Championship consideration.

Smith and Fadley were a part of the Ladies' meet-opening win in the 200-yard medley relay, as well. They paired with Crile Hart and Emmie Mirus to win that race with a time of 1:44.70, which clipped the NCAA 'B' standard.

Hart and Mirus were also key in the Kenyon team win. Hart racked up wins in the 100-yard butterfly and the 200-yard freestyle with respective times of 55.59, a 'B' cut, and 1:53.74. In between those two events, Mirus won the 50-yard freestyle in 24.15. Hart and Mirus later teamed up with Alexandra White and Sydney Geboy to close out the meet with a winning time of 3:31.45 in the 400-yard freestyle relay.

Other Kenyon individual-event winners included Ania Axas in the 200-yard butterfly (2:07.48), Geboy in the 100-yard freestyle (52.58) and Gabrielle Wei in the 400-yard individual medley (4:33.00).

Kenyon, now 2-0, will next compete at home in the three-day Total Performance Invitational, which kicks off on Thursday, November 18.
