Ladies fend off Spartans, Polar Bears

RESULTS

GAMBIER, Ohio -- Ania Axas and Jennah Fadely each won two events Saturday and steered the Kenyon College Ladies swimming and diving team to a double-dual home sweep. The Ladies chalked up a 216-84 win over Case Western Reserve University and also recorded a 248-48 victory against Ohio Northern University.

Axas claimed her wins in the butterfly events, taking the 100-yard in 58.30 and the 200-yard in 2:07.07. Fadely logged her wins in the 200-yard freestyle (1:53.88) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:19.15).

Crile Hart, who won the 200-yard backstroke (2:01.59), also swam with Kenyon's winning 200-yard medley (1:46.07) and 200-yard freestyle (1:38.62) relay teams. She was joined in the medley by Kate Alexy, Ana Dunn and Emmie Mirus. In the freestyle, it was Hart, Mirus, Dunn and Racine Ross.

Early in the meet, Alexy won the 100-yard backstroke (59.34), just after Sarah Hoffman claimed the Ladies' first individual event win of the day in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:39.05).

In sprint freestyle, Sydney Geboy won the 50-yard (24.12) for the Ladies and Alexandra White won the 100-yard (52.32). Following those wins, Kira Bowling tackled another distance event and came out first in the 500-yard freestyle (5:10.45).

The Ladies' two other event wins came from Sydney Buchman in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:08.11) and from Gabrielle Wei in the 400-yard individual medley (4:29.44).

On tap for the Ladies is a meet next Saturday at NCAA Division I Miami (OH) University.
