Owls remain perfect in NCAC play

GAMBIER, Ohio -- Lalasa Nagireddy, the only four-year member of the Kenyon College women's tennis team, celebrated Senior Day on Saturday in perfect fashion. She did not lose a game in singles play and guided the Owls to a 7-0 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) win over the Ohio Wesleyan Battling Bishops.

Nagireddy, who typically plays at the No. 5 or No. 6 singles spots for Kenyon, moved all the way up to No. 2 Saturday and delivered a 6-0, 6-0 win against Ohio Wesleyan's Lily Hershey. That win improved Nagireddy's season singles mark to 11-5.

In other singles play, Clare Hudson and Lauren Dell'Acqua each posted 6-1, 6-0 wins. Hudson did so at No. 1 against Frankie Nuss, while Dell'Acqua did so at No. 6 against Ryleigh Tillman. At No. 3 and No. 4 singles, Hana Nouaime and Elizabeth Ackermann recorded 6-0, 6-2 wins, respectively, and Sophia Carling rounded out the Kenyon singles sweep with a 7-6 (8-6), 7-5 defeat of Evaleigh Garnett at No. 5.

Prior to singles, the Owls set the tone with a trio of 6-0 wins. Those came from Eleni Lazaridou and Nouaime at No. 1, Shadia Amado Aguad and Maggie Shope at No. 2, and Ackermann and Carling at No. 3.

The win keeps the Owls perfect in the NCAC with a 4-0 mark. Overall, the team is now 11-5. On the other side of the net, Ohio Wesleyan fell to 5-4 overall and 1-2 in the NCAC play.
