Fernando Rodriguez is starting his seventh year at Kenyon College as the senior assistant coach. Hired in the summer of 2014, Rodriguez returns to the site where he was a member of Kenyon teams that captured four straight NCAA Division III national championships.

A 2004 graduate of Kenyon, Rodriguez’s collegiate swimming career included two conference event titles, seven all-conference awards, and seven All-America certificates. He was also named a team co-captain his senior season.

His coaching timeline commenced immediately after graduation, as he was hired as an assistant coach at Wabash College, where he remained for one season. Following that, Rodriguez moved on to the University of Georgia, where he earned his master’s degree in kinesiology while serving as a graduate assistant with the physical education department, as well as the assistant coach for the senior group and masters team of the Athens Bulldog Swim Club.

In the summer of 2009, Rodriguez accepted a position as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at the College of William & Mary, where he stayed for three seasons and guided his recruiting classes to break a combined total of 17 school records.

Rodriguez then moved on to Colgate University, again as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator, for the back end of the 2012-13 season. After Colgate, he was hired as an assistant at the University of Richmond. He worked with the Spiders for one season and helped direct the women’s team to the 2014 Atlantic 10 championship title.

A native of Piracicaba in São Paulo, Brazil, Rodriguez also possesses extensive experience in coaching at four different camps, including seven seasons with the Total Performance Swim Camp.
