Meredith Buzzi

Meredith Buzzi enters her tenth season heading up the Kenyon College Ladies lacrosse program. In that time, she was named the North Coast Athletic Conference Coach of the Year three times (2009, 2010, 2013) and the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year twice (2010, 2013). Additionally, in 2013 she was tabbed Synapse Sports Coach of the Year.

A year ago, Kenyon got out to a 6-0 start and ended the season with a 10-4 record. During the season, Buzzi coached Jane Symmes who turned into the NCAC's Offensive Player of the Year and an all-region honoree. By the end of her career, Symmes also set the Kenyon program record in draw controls (277).

In 2015, the Ladies started 5-0, the best start since the 2010 season before finishing 9-5. Over the course of the season, Buzzi tutored NCAC Newcomer of the Year Kat Englert while also seeing Jane Symmes earn second-team all-conference and all-region honors.

During the 2013 season, Buzzi guided the Ladies to a 13-3 overall record, a 7-1 NCAC mark, the program's first-ever conference championship and a second showing in the NCAA Division III Tournament. Her squad nearly doubled its win total from the previous season (7-8) and set single-season program records for points per game (25.07), goals per game (16.43), assists per game (8.64), and draw controls per game (16.14).

The 13 wins in 2013 gave Buzzi an overall career coaching record of 65-30 at Kenyon and made her the 40-year-old program's most winning coach.

In 2010, when Buzzi earned her first regional Coach of the Year award, the Kenyon women racked up a 15-3 overall record and made the program’s first appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament. While on the national stage, Kenyon became the only NCAC team to win a game in the tournament with a 19-14 first-round decision over the College of Wooster.

For her part in 2010, Buzzi earned her second-straight NCAC Coach of the Year award. She also collected the conference's coaching honor after the 2009 campaign in which she guided the team to a 12-5 mark and an appearance in the NCAC Tournament championship game.

Buzzi arrived on campus after previously serving as the assistant women's lacrosse coach at the College of Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts. In her three seasons working with the Crusaders, she helped direct the team to back-to-back Patriot League championships, as well as a pair of appearances in the NCAA Division I Tournament.

Buzzi also honed her coaching skills at Champlain Valley Union (CVU) High School in Hinesburg, Vermont, and as an assistant for one season at the University of Vermont. While at CVU, she directed her squad into the 2004 state championship game.

A 2003 graduate of Division III Colby-Sawyer College, Buzzi was a four-year starter for the Chargers lacrosse team. She was team captain her senior season and earned all-conference honors. During her playing career, she totaled 87 goals, 41 assists, and 128 points--all top-ten marks in the Colby-Sawyer record books. She earned a spot on the college's academic honor roll and graduated with a degree in communications.
