In the summer of 2022, Tatiana Samuel was hired as Kenyon's Assistant Coach for women's lacrosse. She joined the Owls staff after serving as Graduate Assistant Coach at the University of the Cumberlands, a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) institution in Williamsburg, Kentucky.

At Cumberlands, Samuel assisted in all aspects of the sport, but her focus was on the defensive side. She helped design and implement practices, recruited, organized travel and managed the team’s social media accounts.
During her three season there, the Patriots put together a combined record of 42-5, twice made the finals of the Mid-South Conference (MSC) Tournament and twice made appearances in the NAIA National Tournament.

In the 2022 season, the Patriots earned a national rank as high as No. 2 and led the NAIA in goals against average, draw controls, goals and assists, while ranking second in caused turnovers. For her efforts, Samuel earned the inaugural MSC Assistant Coach of the Year award.

Prior to starting her coaching career, Samuel, a native of Houston, Texas, spent four years playing at NCAA Division II University of Montevallo in Alabama. While playing defense for the Falcons, she racked up 57 career starts, scooped up 128 ground balls and caused 56 turnovers. Her award list was highlighted by spots on the Gulf South Conference (GSC) Spring Academic Honor Roll, GSC All-Conference Team and the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Presidential Honor Roll.

Samuel graduated from Montevallo in 2019 with a business degree. At Cumberlands, she earned master’s degrees in both Business Administration and in Health and Human Performance.
