Kaitlyn Mallernee

Kaitlyn Mallernee begins her thirdseason with the Kenyon College women’s soccer staff as an assistant coach with a focus on managing the Ladies’ goalkeepers. A graduate of the University of Mount Union, Mallernee comes to Kenyon following a successful season as an assistant for her hometown high school women’s soccer squad at Dover (OH) High School.

After completing a four-year playing career with the Purple Raiders, Mallernee rejoined the team as an assistant for the 2011 season. The team set new highs as a program on the rise, winning more non-conference games in a season (5) since 1999 and most overall wins in a season (8) since 2003. Three Purple Raiders were named to the all-conference team that season.

Mallernee then returned to another familiar place where she helped lead her high school alma mater, Dover High School, to its first-ever girls’ soccer regional championship game after winning sectional and district titles. The Tornadoes placed one student-athlete on the all-state team that year, as well.

In four years between the pipes for Mount Union, Mallernee posted nine career shutouts and collected a .809 save percentage along with a 1.82 goals against average. In 2008, she was named to the All-OAC team as an honorable mention. She captained the Purple Raiders in 2008 and 2009, and was a three-time Most Valuable Player selection (2007-09). Mallernee graduated in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in english and creative writing.
