Gaby Fukumura

GAMBIER, Ohio -- Starting duties in August of 2026, Gabriela (Gaby) Fukumura was hired as the assistant coach for the Kenyon College women’s lacrosse program. She comes to Kenyon with seven seasons of coaching experience at the club, high school, and collegiate levels.

Fukumura, who graduated in January of 2026 from Concordia University Irvine, earned her master’s degree in coaching and athletic administration. While at Irvine she served, for two seasons, as a graduate assistant coach, focusing on defense and goalie work.

Prior to that, Fukumura gained her bachelor’s degree in science, technology, and society from Pomona College in Claremont, California.

Her coaching career began in 2020, when she worked as an assistant varsity coach and junior varsity head coach at Northwood High School in Irvine, California. She went on to work at the SoCal Express Lacrosse Club in Orange County and then as head coach at Los Alamitos High School.

Fukumura’s coaching resume also includes experience at Orange Lutheran High School, as well as serving as a director and head coach at Frenzy Lacrosse Club in Orange County.
