Gerald Callagy was hired to the Kenyon College football staff in March 2026 as the program’s special teams coordinator and linebackers coach.

Prior to arriving in Gambier, Callagy served as the special teams coordinator and inside linebackers/rush end coach at Curry College for two seasons. In that role, he designed special teams game plans, oversaw specialist development, and coordinated all special teams units. His units ranked among the nation’s best in several categories, including kickoff return average (22.5 yards, 37th nationally) and punt return average (14.6 yards, 13th nationally), while producing two kickoff return touchdowns and blocking four kicks on field goal and PAT attempts. Callagy also worked closely with the linebackers and rush ends, helping develop multiple all-conference performers, including two first-team selections and two second-team honorees.

Before beginning his coaching career, Callagy played at Springfield College as a linebacker and long snapper. During his time with the Pride, the program captured three NEWMAC championships. As a senior sidelined by injury, he assisted the coaching staff with defensive preparation and position drills.

Callagy graduated cum laude from Springfield College in 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in history and secondary education. He is currently pursuing a Master of Education from Curry College.
