Mark Teeples was named Kenyon's Head Athletic Trainer in the summer of 2016 after serving as an Assistant Athletic Trainer beginning in 2012. Prior to the 2021-22 academic year, Teeples was promoted to Assistant Director of Athletics for Sports Performance. While retaining his duties as Head Athletic Trainer, he added oversight of Kenyon's Strength and Conditioning program, as well as equipment room operations within the Lowry Center.Â
At the conclusion of the 2022-23 academic year, Teeples was named, by the Intercollegiate Council for Sports Medicine, the Head Athletic Trainer of the Year for NCAA Division III. Prior to earning that national award, Teeples was the recipient of Kenyon's 2020-21 Distinguished Service Award.Â
Before arriving in Gambier, Teeples spent seven seasons as the Assistant Athletic Trainer, in relationship with OhioHealth, for the Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League.
Prior to working with the Blue Jackets, Teeples spent four seasons working on the athletic training staff of the NFL's Baltimore Ravens. He worked his way up to both positions by spending time as a staff intern with the Blue Jackets and working training camps with the Ravens.

In 2001, he graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor's degree in education. That same year he earned NATA certification and Ohio state athletic training license.
He and his wife, Erin, live in Howard, Ohio with their two sons, Matthew and Ian.Â
