GAMBIER, Ohio – Junior Madi Kim helped get the Kenyon College women's soccer team back to the .500 mark with a 3-0 victory over Oberlin College Saturday in Gambier. With Kim producing a goal and an assist, the Ladies evened their overall record at 5-5-1 and moved to 1-1-1 against North Coast Athletic Conference opponents.

Kim set up Kenyon's first score of the game in the seventh minute with a long pass ahead to sophomore Becca Romaine  Reaching the ball in stride, Romaine fired a shot from the right side into the left corner of the Oberlin net for her tenth goal of the season.

Kim then got into the act on her own in the 64th minute with a shot from 20-yards out that ducked under the crossbar for the Ladies third and final score. The goal and assist were each the first of the season for Kim.

Kenyon also notched a hustling goal in the 18th minute when a serve into the box bounced off a Yeowomen defender and the goalie.  Freshman Ansen Burr won the footrace to the loose ball and tapped it in for her first collegiate goal.

The Ladies' comfortable margin of victory was due to their ability to control the action on both ends of the pitch. Kenyon outshot Oberlin, 39-7, and attempted 12 corner kicks to the Yeowomen's one. The few times Oberlin (0-10-1, 0-2-0 NCAC) did threaten, junior keeper Lauren Wolfe made four saves in her fourth shutout performance of 2012.

The Ladies renew their rivalry with Denison University Tuesday night at 7 p.m. in Granville. The Big Red will enter that contest one spot ahead of Kenyon in the NCAC standings with a 2-1-0 mark in conference action as part of a 3-7-1 overall record.
