Heis heads up Kenyon’s All-Ohio awardees

GAMBIER, Ohio -- Three members of the Kenyon College women's soccer team were recently awarded with All-Ohio and Academic All-Ohio recognition from the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association (OCSA). The trio included senior Brooke Heis, junior Ariel Kite, and sophomore Emily Copeland.

Heis and Copeland were named to the All-Ohio team, with Heis taking her spot among the Second Team selections and Copeland gaining a First Team spot. On the Academic All-Ohio list, Heis was named a First Team pick and Kite was named to the Second Team.

In order to garner a spot on the Academic All-Ohio Team a student-athlete had to be in their junior or senior year of competition, had to achieve a grade point average of 3.30 or better, and had to be a starter and/or significant contributor to the team's success.

Both Heis and Kite easily cleared those hurdles. Heis, a senior defender, is set to graduate in May with a degree in biochemistry. Kite, a junior goalkeeper, majors in psychology.

On the field, Heis and Kite spearheaded a Kenyon defense that set single-season program records for fewest goals allowed (9), goals-against average (0.50), and shutouts (11). Heis started every game and led the team in minutes played. She also contributed a pair of assists on the offensive end. In goal, Kite generated a 0.54 goals against average, eight solo shutouts, and 36 saves.

Copeland, a sophomore forward, earned her position among the All-Ohio picks by racking up a team-high nine goals, a total that also tied for the lead among all players in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC). She also led the team, and the conference, with 18 points.

That trio of award-winners helped lift Kenyon's 2025 team to a 9-4-5 overall record and a fourth-place finish in the NCAC.
