GAMBIER, Ohio – Seven of the first nine shots the Kenyon College women's basketball team made Saturday were of the three-point variety and the sharpshooting continued from there. The Ladies ended up with a 46.6-percent effort (27-58) from the floor and a 43.5-percent showing (10-23) beyond the arc in a 74-44 dismantling of the Hiram College Terriers.

Junior Maureen Hirt keyed Kenyon's fast start with 11 of her 19 points over the first 11:30. Hirt tripled three times and hit a pull-up jumper in the lane to help the Ladies grab a 27-16 lead. From that point on, Kenyon maintained a double-digit cushion over the Terriers (6-10, 1-6 North Coast Athletic Conference).

The Ladies closed the first half on a 17-4 run to post a 44-20 lead at halftime. Kenyon extended its advantage to as many as 35 points in the second half before settling on the 30-point margin of victory.

Hirt wrapped up the game 5-of-9 (55.6 percent) from the three-point line. Kayla Ernst,  Maggie Boelter,  Lauren Kriete,  Avery Anderson and Meredith Williams canned the remainder of Kenyon's three-balls.

Ernst ended up as the game's top scorer with 21 points, while she and Hirt shared the rebounding lead with six apiece. Senior Imani Ladson scored ten points – one shy of her career high – to go along with five boards. Boelter, Anderson and Williams tallied five points each for the Ladies (12-4, 6-1 NCAC).

A winner in four of its last five games, Kenyon will try to keep rolling Wednesday with a visit to Wittenberg University at 7:30 p.m.
