GAMBIER, Ohio – Kayla Ernst notched her sixth straight game with 20 points or more, Katie Adlam tossed in a career-high 18 points, and the Kenyon College women's basketball team rolled to a 70-61 decision over the visiting Oberlin College Yeowomen in the quarterfinal round of the North Coast Athletic Conference postseason tournament.

The final score indicated the game was closer than it actually was. From the start, the Ladies dominated. Within the first 12 minutes of play, Ernst, a senior post, racked up 12 points and steered her Kenyon team to an early 28-11 advantage. She scored 14 of her game-high 22 points in the first half and helped increase the Ladies' lead to as many as 25 points. In addition to her scoring output, Ernst also grabbed a game-high eight rebounds and dished out five assists.

Adlam, a senior guard, nearly had a perfect shooting night. She recorded her 18 points on 6-of-7 shooting from the floor and 5-of-6 shooting at the free throw line. She drained her only three-point attempt, grabbed six rebounds, and also contributed three assists and a two steals.

When Kenyon (19-7) got up by as many as 29 points in the second half, head coach Suzanne Helfant released her reserves. That allowed Oberlin to pull a little closer, but the Yeowomen did not cut their deficit to single digits until Malisa Hoak nailed a three-pointer just before the final buzzer sounded.

Maureen Hirt, Maggie Boelter, and Lauren Kriete all finished with nine points for Kenyon, which now moves on to the NCAC tournament semifinals to face Allegheny College. That contest will be played Friday evening at DePauw University. Friday's other semifinal game will pit DePauw against Wittenberg University.
