GAMBIER, Ohio  – Kenyon College Women's Basketball was served up the tall task of stopping DePauw University's unbeaten run that stood at 13 games coming into Saturday afternoon. The Tigers, ranked number one in the country, continued their winning streak behind strong shooting and holding Ladies' star Maureen Hirt to the fewest points in a game since becoming a starter. DePauw left Tomsich Arena on Saturday with a 100-59 win over Kenyon, dropping the Ladies to 8-5 overall on the season.

DePauw (14-0, 5-0 NCAC) controlled the game from the very beginning by running out to a 12-2 lead just three minutes into the game. The Tigers pounded the inside, scoring eight of its first 12 points in the paint. Kenyon slowed DePauw down to keep their deficit manageable, but could not hold them from breaking out to as much as a 24-point lead come half's end.

The entire DePauw roster possessed a hot hand in the first half, combining to shoot 70 percent (21-for-30) as a team in the opening 20 minutes. Four different players hit all their attempted shots and no player missed fewer than half of their attempts that recorded multiple tries.

In addition, the Tigers held Hirt scoreless in the first half. Meanwhile, Maggie Boelter led the Ladies' scoring effort with 14 first-half points behind 5-of-10 shooting. Four of her makes came from behind the arc.

With a 51-29 lead coming out of the break, the Ladies were able to keep the Tigers from running away with a larger lead through the opening seven minutes, but were not able to chip into the deficit either. Toward the 13-minute mark of the second half, DePauw began to break away once again with more impressive shooting displays, nearly matching the team's effort in the first half. In the end, DePauw had six different players, including all five starters, to finish with double-figure point totals. They were led by Hannah Douglas' 16 points. Alison Stephens put together a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Boelter finished as Kenyon's leading point scorer with 21 on the day. Hirt was limited to just two points on 1-of-5 shooting, marking the fewest points scored in a game since she became a starter as a freshman.

Kenyon (8-5, 3-2, NCAC) will regroup and hit the road for a Wednesday night (Jan. 15) showdown with rival Denison University at 6 p.m. Live stats and video will be provided for the game.
