WOOSTER, Ohio –
Christine Bloom scored twice in the second half as Kenyon College downed the College of Wooster 4-1 Thursday afternoon in a North Coast Athletic Conference field hockey match.
The first half saw Kenyon out-shoot Wooster 19-3 but just one goal to show.
Shelby Stone helped the Scots get an early 1-0 lead as she fired from the right wing inside the left post 13 minutes into the contest.
It wasn't until the 33rd minute that the Ladies would find their first score.
Julie Freedman delivered the tying score with a rebound goal past Scots keeper Carrie Mount.
In the second half, the continued offensive assault from Kenyon produced three more goals and victory.
Bloom pushed the Ladies ahead 2-1 in the 42nd minute as she tapped in a bouncing ball past the Scots goalie.
Cecilia Depman then assisted Bloom in the 53rd minute on a give-and-go.
Wooster had three on-goal shots in the second half, but freshman keeper
Sarah Speroff saved all three denying the Scots a chance to get back into the game.
Katelyn Hutchinson rounded out the scoring effort for Kenyon with her third goal of the season in the 67th minute.
The Ladies out-shot the Scots 28-9 with 17 of those attempts on-goal.
Kenyon welcomes Ohio Wesleyan University to McBride Field October 4 for an NCAC match starting at 11 a.m.
