Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Case Western shuts out Kenyon, 1-0

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Kenyon College was held to a season-low one shot on-goal Thursday night as Case Western Reserve University defeated the Ladies 1-0 in a non-conference women's soccer match at DiSanto Field.

The Spartans didn't take long to get on the scoreboard.

In the third minute, Madeleine Harris fired from inside the goalie's box and found the right-corner of the net for the match's lone goal.

Maggie Smith tried to tie the match in the 11th minute but her shot was denied by Case goalie Abbey Smith.

For the rest of the match, the Ladies weren't able to threaten Smith.

Gillian Blackwell led the way with three shots while Chelsie Hayes added another. Alissa Poolpol took the tough-luck loss while saving eight shots.

Kenyon will return to action October 4 when they host NCAC opponent Allegheny College at noon at Mavec Field.
