Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

No. 5 Kenyon explodes in second half in 4-0 win over Hiram

GAMBIER, Ohio – Jordan Glassman scored twice as the No. 5 Kenyon College men's soccer team scored all of its goals within an 11-minute stretch Saturday afternoon in its 4-0 North Coast Athletic Conference win over Hiram College.

It was Senior Day for Kenyon which honored the careers of Ben Alexander, Rei Mitsuyama, Grant Carney, Corbin Stevens, Nate Petrou, Edgar Arceo, Sam Justice, Logan Ernst, Charlie Yamamoto, Alex Christoff, and Cameron Scott.

After just finding one shot on goal in the first half, the Lords turned up the heat on the Terriers in the 66th minute. Mitsuyama sent in a corner kick from the right side and watched as Tony Amolo headed in the ball off the left post.

About 90 seconds later, Glassman fired from just outside the 18-yard box and found the back-right corner of the net to extend Kenyon's lead to 2-0.

Glassman delivered again in the 73rd minute on a great offensive set by the Lords. Petrou's corner found Carney who then headed the ball to Glassman and the sophomore from Madison, Conn., did the rest.

Henry Myers capped off Kenyon's scoring efforts in the 77th minute as Carney passed wide left of the box and Myers one-timed a shot to the left side.

The Lords held a 16-5 advantage in shots and a 9-2 lead in corner kicks.  Sam Clougher recorded two saves in the shutout.

Kenyon closes out its regular season with two road matches.  They'll visit Wittenberg University October 29 followed by a November 1 date at Oberlin College.
