OBERLIN, Ohio – No. 6 Kenyon College scored three goals, all in the first half, in another road victory in its win over Oberlin College in a North Coast Athletic Conference men's soccer match.
The Lords' victory secures a 2 p.m. NCAC Tournament semifinal match Tuesday against Wabash College at Mavec Field. It will be the fourth time in the
Chris Brown era that Kenyon hosts a semifinal match. The last was a year ago when the team hosted Oberlin and won 1-0.
Tony Amolo scored his 12th goal of the year in the 17th minute to break a scoreless tie.
Jordan Glassman and
Grant Carney assisted on the goal which proved to be the only scoring the Lords needed.
Alex Christoff added to Kenyon's advantage in the 34th minute.
Sam Justice headed an attempt in the goalie's box that was rebounded to Christoff who did the rest for his first goal of the season.
Kenyon added its final goal in the 42nd minute when a cross deflected off a Yeoman player for an own goal.
Defensively, the Lords were stout again limiting Oberlin to just two shots on goal.
Sam Clougher recorded his 12th shutout of the year in the process.
The Lords finish the regular season with a 15-1-1 record, the most regular season wins in
Chris Brown's tenure.
Alex Christoff scored his first goal of the season to help Kenyon College defeat Oberlin College 3-0. The Lords return
to action Nov. 4 when they'll host an NCAC Tournament semifinal match against an opponent to be determined.
