GAMBIER, Ohio – The No. 2-ranked Kenyon College men's soccer team spotted the visiting Muskingum University Fighting Muskies a goal Wednesday evening at Mavec Field. After that, the Lords reeled off five straight goals of their own and flattened the fish with a 5-1 final.

To the surprise of just about everyone, Muskingum (3-2) logged the first goal in the game's fourth minute. From the left corner of the box, Troy Viegl placed perfectly his shot over the outstretched arms of Kenyon keeper Sam Clougher and into the left upper 90. Not only was that the Fighting Muskies' only goal of the game, it was also their only shot of the game.

Kenyon (6-0) fired back with 25 shots and five goals. The first two of the Lords' goals came in rapid fashion. At the 15:32 mark, sophomore Josh Lee uncorked a crossing pass from the left side to the right and senior Rei Mitsuyama was there to head it home. Just 21 seconds later, sophomore Jordan Glassman laced a pass down the left side of the goal line and to the center of the box. Senior Edgar Arceo collected the pass and booted it by Muskingum keeper Eric Riley.

Just before the half could come to a close, freshman Woo Jeon scored off an assist from senior Cameron Scott to put Kenyon ahead 3-1 at the break.

Second-half goals for the Lords were tallied by Lee and Glassman. Lee took in a short pass from Glassman and hammered home his shot from the top right corner of the box. Near that same spot, sophomore Tony Amolo dropped a pass back to Glassman, who finished off the Kenyon scoring with a little more than five minutes remaining in the game. It was well-deserved goal for Glassman, who had a handful of near-misses, including a shot off the post, throughout the game.

Now with a 6-0 record, the Lords are off to their best start since the 1992 team rattled off nine straight victories to open the season.
