OBERLIN, Ohio – After dropping its first North Coast Athletic Conference contest a day ago, Kenyon College field hockey bounced back with a 5-0 win over Oberlin College Sunday afternoon. Five different Ladies scored in the match.

Kenyon's offense overwhelmed the Yeomen defense to the tune of three 1st-half goals before adding a pair in the second half. The Ladies took 35 shots in the first half compared to just one for the Yeomen.

Sammy Johnston's goal in the 13th minute proved to be the only scoring Kenyon needed in the contest. Johnston tallied her third score of the year on a penalty corner.

Maddie Breschi and Rachel Hall got in the mix in the 24th and 26th minutes, respectively, to round out the Ladies' opening-half scoring efforts.

In the second half, Kenyon got its final two goals early in the period.

Shannon Hart scored on an assist from Katelyn Hutchinson in the 38th minute. Julie Freedman followed that up a minute later with her third goal of the season which pushed the Ladies ahead 5-0.

Kenyon goalie Sarah Speroff recorded four saves in the win. It was her second shutout of the season.

The Ladies return to action October 2 at the College of Wooster for another NCAC matchup. The contest is set to start at 4:30 p.m.
