NEW CONCORD, Ohio – The second-ranked Kenyon College men's soccer team found its seventh win of the season Tuesday night defeating Muskingum University 2-0 in a non-conference match at McConagha Stadium.
Despite out-shooting the Fighting Muskies 28-7, the Lords struggled to finish in the back of the net.
First-half action saw Kenyon attempt four shots within nine minutes of the match starting, but nothing came through for the Lords.
Woo Jeon's header nearly gave Kenyon a 1-0 lead in the 10th minute but it sailed wide left.
The Lords finally broke through in the 27th minute. Junior
Tony Amolo struck from just above the box and into the right corner of the net to break the scoreless tie.
Muskingum had just one shot on goal in the first half that came in the 29th minute, but the attempt from David Gebhardt sailed into the arms of goalie
Sam Clougher.
A 1-0 Lords lead held the rest of the way into halftime.
In the second half, it didn't take long for Kenyon to extend its lead. Just four minutes in,
Oliver Wynn directed a pass to
Dalton Eudy in the box and the junior from Dallas chipped a shot that deflected into the goal.
The Lords defense held the rest of the way limiting the Fighting Muskies to shot two shot attempts in the 68th and 89th minutes.
Kenyon is back in action September 26 when they host Wittenberg University in the North Coast Athletic Conference opener for both team. The match is set to start at 3:30 p.m. at Mavec Field.

improved its record to 7-0.
