WOOSTER, Ohio – Spencer Williams and Mitch Balser combined for 49 points as The College of Wooster pulled away from Kenyon College (8-11, 5-8 NCAC) in the second half and won by a 101-88 count Wednesday night at Timken Gymnasium.

Kenyon was just as good offensively as they hit at a 53 percent clip from the field including a 52 percent showing from downtown. Leading the way for the Lords was
Alexander Powell who tallied a career-high 20 points while hitting 7-of-8 from the free throw line and sinking a trio of three-pointers. Senior

Just a little over six minutes into the game, the Lords found themselves down 21-12 following a Reece Dupler layup. With Wooster starting the game well, Kenyon needed to respond, and did.
In what was a theme for most of the game, the Lords fought back to cut the deficit to one (21-20) after
Will Sigl hit a layup with 10:56 left in the half. Kenyon pulled the game to within one again when Powell scored a three-ball with 7:23 remaining which brought the count to 31-30.
The Fighting Scots followed that shot, however, with a 14-3 run and went up by 11 with four minutes left as Dan Fanelly collected a steal and scored a fast-break layup to move Wooster up double digits (44-33) for the first time. But again, Kenyon responded and was able to bring the halftime deficit to 53-46 as
Chris Link scored a layup with four seconds left.
Kenyon shot 58 percent in the first half while Wooster hit a blistering 63 percent of its shots.
In the second half, Kenyon rallied to tie the game.
Down 66-57, the Lords reeled off an 11-2 run capped off by Kimble's three-pointer with 11:28 left to tie the game at 68. A couple minutes later after the Fighting Scots regained the lead, Comey hit a layup to bring the score to 73-70.
That was the closest the Lords got the rest of the way.
Wooster followed with a 15-2 run to seize complete control of the contest as they went ahead 88-72. Williams scored nine points during that stretch.
