Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Adrian powers way to 4-1 in over Ladies

GAMBIER, Ohio – Adrian College kept heavy pressure on the Kenyon College net throughout the day as the Bulldogs earned a 4-1 win at Mavec Field in a non-conference women's soccer match.

The Bulldogs (1-2) outshot the Ladies 23-3 including owning a 9-2 shots on goal advantage.

After getting a couple good looks within the game's first 10 minutes, Adrian, members of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association, broke through in the 18th minute.

With a couple Kenyon defenders and goalie nearing a loose ball deflection, Caroline Fleming retrieved the ball, found an open net, and fired her first goal of the season.

About 12 minutes later, Fleming scored again as her shot deflected off the post into the left side of the net.

Adrian added one more goal the rest of the way to push its halftime lead to 3-0.

In the second stanza, Fallon Raviol helped the Ladies (1-1) cut into the deficit with her first goal of the year. After Samantha Hayes drove to the left end line, Raviol picked up a loose ball and fired from about five yards away over the head of goalie Ayverie Giller.

That turned out to be the only shot in the second half for Kenyon.

Next on the schedule for Kenyon is a home date against Shenandoah University (0-2) on September 8 at 1 p.m.
