CLEVELAND – The combination of senior

Bruzzio piled up 11 kills, eight digs and a pair of service aces, while Reimbold smashed 11 kills at a .389 clip. She also came up with three digs, a block and an ace.
Kenyon's attack was sharp throughout the lineup, as the Ladies produced a .291 attack percentage in the opening match.
Haley Witschey and
Elyse Davidson both had seven kills, while
Tara Ford logged six kills in nine attempts (.667) and
Maleah Miller tacked on five kills in 10 tries (.500).
Junior setter

Case (0-1) jumped out to an early lead of 10-4 in the first set and held that six-point advantage until it was 18-12. At that point, Kenyon whipped up five straight points, including two kills by Ford. A Bruzzio ace tied things up and the Ladies benefitted from three Case errors to finish off the set on a 13-4 run.
Set two was more closely played, but the Ladies finished it strong, as well. With the score tied 17-17, Case made a couple more errors. Reimbold followed up with a kill and an ace. Miller and Davidson each added kills, as the Ladies closed out the set on an 8-3 run.
The momentum carried over to the third set, one in which Kenyon never trailed. Bruzzio chalked up six of her 11 kills in that final set, while Reimbold had four.
The match was part of the six-team Spartans Invitational at Horsburgh Gymnasium. Saturday, the Ladies (1-0) will return to the site to take on Bethany College at noon and then Carnegie Mellon University at 2 p.m.
