MEADVILLE, Pa. – The 22nd-ranked Kenyon College men's soccer team defeated a tough Allegheny College side 2-0 on Saturday in both team's North Coast Athletic Conference opener at Frank B. Fuhrer Field. For the Lords, they improved their record to 9-1, while winning for the eighth straight match.
Goalie play highlighted first-half action on Saturday as Lords junior
Ian McInturf notched five of his eight saves in the opening 45 minutes while Allegheny's Nick Ferreira added two.
Within the match's first 23 minutes, the Gators had taken five shots, three of which were on-target. Dillon Thoma, Jorge Olan and Danny Reid all fired, but McInturf stopped them. Lords sophomore
Sam Carson notched Kenyon's first good look, but his shot to the bottom-right of the net was denied.
By the end of the half, Allegheny had out-shot the Lords, 7-4.

In net, McInturf continued his strong play with three more second-half saves, moving his total to eight, tying his season high. Collectively, the Lords' defense in the second stanza allowed just three attempts to the Gators.
Next Saturday, the Lords will return home to face Wittenberg University at 3:30 p.m. in another NCAC contest.
