GAMBIER, Ohio – Carnegie Mellon University (2-1-1) scored three second-half goals to upend Kenyon College 4-2 on Sunday in a non-conference women's soccer match at Mavec Field. The Ladies' record fell to 1-3 in the process.
The Tartans controlled possession throughout the match attaining advantages in shots (16-3) and corner kicks (9-0).
Despite those statistics, Kenyon actually attained the first lead of the game.

Caroline McNeer crossed a long ball to newcomer
Isabel Fine around the left side of the 18-yard box. Fine followed with a left-footed shot to the right corner.
That 1-0 lead remained for the next 25 minutes before the visitolrs knotted things up. A corner from Taylor Cammarata came to Julianne Tippett who then fired from near the middle of the box. That started a 3-0 run for the Tartans.
After intermission, CMU struck early. At the 50:27 mark, Helena Spencer drove around multiple Kenyon defenders and scored from the left side. Then in the 68th minute, Abby Kuznick delivered a long ball from near the Carnegie bench to a streaking Tara Durstewitz who followed with the team's third goal.
The Ladies pulled to within one on an impressive goal from freshman
Olivia Carriero in the 76th minute. However, that was Kenyon's last shot attempt as CMU added one more score from Durstewitz.
Next on the schedule for Kenyon is a home date on September 14 at 1 p.m. against Otterbein University (3-0).
