Lords fall on the road to Muskingum

NEW CONCORD -- The Kenyon College men's basketball team fell on the road to Muskingum 75-53 Saturday afternoon.

Gefen Bar-Cohen led the Lords in scoring with 12 points. Dylan Fuerst, Connor Moss, and Miles Versa each scored six on the afternoon. David Mazon hauled in a team high six rebounds in the game.

Muskingum started the game on a 10-0 run starting with a M.J. Smith three pointer at the 18:11 mark. It wasn't until 13:37 left in the first half that Kenyon scored for the first time in the game. Miles Versa scored on a layup to give the Lords their first points.

After a pair of Muskingum free throws, the Muskies held their largest advantage of the game at 31-14. Fuerst scored on two straight possessions to cut the lead to 13 but that would be the closest the Lords would get for the remainder of the half. Headed into the locker rooms, Muskingum led Kenyon 43-20.

The Muskies scored the opening bucket of the second half to go up by 25 points. Kenyon started a three and a half minute run where they outscored Muskingum 15-2 and cut the lead to 12. The Lords continued to try and cut the deficit but a 10-0 run by Muskingum put them up by 24.

Muskingum gained their largest lead of the afternoon when Jayden Humphrey nailed a three point shot to put his team up 75-47. Both teams remained scoreless until Kenyon started a run with 90 seconds left in the game. The Lords scored eight points to close out the game.

The Lords return home to take on Geneva College on Monday at 7 p.m.
