COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- As a part of the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America's (CSCAA) Centennial Celebration, the association named its list of 100 Greatest College Swimming & Diving Coaches of the past 100 years.
Included on the list were former and current Kenyon coaches Jim Steen, Jess Book, Fletcher Gilders and Jon Howell.
A little more than 500 coaches were nominated. A committee of 58 voters selected from 263 finalists, each focusing on a particular sport (swimming or diving) and division. A steering committee then vetted and finalized the selections.

He coached 328 All-Americans, 25 CSCAA NCAA Division III Swimmers of the Year and 46 NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship winners. He was a 16-time CSCAA NCAA Division III Coach of the Year and winner of the 2012 CSCAA Lifetime Achievement Award.

He's a two-time winner of the CSCAA NCAA DIII Coach of the Year award for both men's and women's competition.
Fletcher Gilders
Gilders coached four national champion divers who combined to win eight NCAA event titles for the Kenyon programs. He was honored three times as the CSCAA NCAA Division III Men's Diving Coach of the Year. At the conference level, he directed five divers to a total of 15 crowns and was a six-time North Coast Athletic Conference Diving Coach of the Year.
Jon Howell
A 1990 Kenyon graduate, Howell served for one year as an assistant coach at Kenyon and then stepped in as head in 1996, leading both the Lords and Ladies to NCAA Championships.
