Two Kenyon divers compete at Purdue

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- With just two spots allotted for Kenyon College divers, junior Naomi Kennel and first-year Olive O'Dorisio earned the right to represent the Owls on Friday night at Purdue University.

Facing NCAA Division I competition, the Owls got on the three-meter board first. With four Purdue divers and one diver from the University of Indianapolis finishing ahead of them, Kennel and O'Dorisio claimed sixth and seventh, respectively. Kennel tallied a final score of 177.30, while O'Dorisio chalked up a score of 171.20.

Later, in a field of nine one-meter divers, O'Dorisio posted a score of 193.15 to take seventh place, while Kennel finished up with a 180.75 to take ninth place.

The Kenyon duo will now head back to Gambier to join the rest of the Owls swimming and diving team, as it hosts the University of Cincinnati in a 12:30 p.m. dual meet Saturday.
