Kenyon men take third at Oberlin Regional Rumble

OBERLIN, Ohio – Running in its final event before the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Championship, the Kenyon College men's cross country team competed in the Oberlin Regional Rumble on Saturday afternoon. 

Led by a top ten finish from Charlie Blackmer, the Owls charged to a third-place finish in a field of 26 teams, totaling 109 points. 

Blackmer led Kenyon for the second time this season, the first since mid-September. The sophomore sped through the five-mile course in 25:47.30, good enough for a 10th place finish out of the 227-runner field.

Colt Murphy and Joshua Breard were next up for the Owls, finishing within one 10th of each other to take 14th and 15th, respectively, on the individual leaderboard. Murphy was first at 25:58.10, while Breard was not far behind at 25:58.20. 

Caleb Low finished in 27th overall and fourth on the Kenyon squad, clocking in a 26:18.60. Henry Rodrigues was not far behind, crossing the line at 26:39.70 for a 48th place finish to round out the top five scoring finishers for the Owls team. 

Also inside the top-100 finishes were Charlie Menzel and Jackson Beemer. Menzel rounded the course in 26:52.50, good enough for 60th individually, while Beemer took 88th place with a 27:15.60 time. 

Up next, Noah Berg finished just past the 28-minute mark at 28:09, while Adam Skidmore finished the course at 29:35.30 and Champ Blose made his finish at 29:56.10. 

Case Western took home the crown with 84 points, followed by RIT with 95 to round out the podium. 

Kenyon's next event will be the 2025 NCAC Championship meet, taking place on Saturday, November 1 at 11:00 a.m. from Gambier.
