Three Kenyon players gain ITA ranks

GAMBIER, Ohio -- The end of the fall tennis season was recently stamped with national and regional singles and doubles rankings from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). For the Kenyon College women's team, three players had their names pop up on the list.

In the ITA's national singles ranking, first-year Kiara Komlodi earned a spot at No. 22, while senior Eleni Lazaridou checked in at No. 41 on the list of the ITA's top-50. In terms of ITA Central Region ranks, Komlodi landed at No. 5 and Lazaridou was at No. 10.

The Kenyon women's team played in just two events over the fall schedule. During that span, Komlodi posted a 7-1 singles mark, which included a run to the semifinal round of the 128-player ITA Central Region Singles Championship. In that same event, Lazaridou made it to the round of 16 and capped her fall with a 4-2 record.

Lazaridou, who has three All-America awards on her resume, also found her name within the ITA's Central Region doubles ranking. She, along with sophomore Hana Nouaime, were locked into the No. 9 spot. The two played together last year and went 15-6, including an appearance in the NCAA Division III Doubles Championship. In their short time together this fall, the Kenyon duo posted a 4-2 mark.
