Kenyon stifles Allegheny in Florida debut

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Kenyon College men's tennis team kicked off its 2025 spring break trip on Wednesday afternoon, taking on Allegheny College from the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida.

The Owls took care of business to sweep the Gators 7-0, only dropping one doubles match and remaining undefeated this season. 

The duo of Josh Finkle and Eric Zhang picked up the first win of the day for Kenyon (6-0) in the No. 2 doubles flight, bringing in a 6-2 victory. Rishil Kondapaneni and Jay Kedar Dixit followed suit in the No. 3 doubles flight, also turning in a 6-2 victory. Despite falling 7-6 in a tiebreaker in the No. 1 flight, the Owls picked up the first point in the match. 

Paulo Pocasangre Kreling returned to form in the No. 1 singles match, taking a 6-4, 6-2 winner. He was joined by Alejandro Gonzalez, who bounced back with a 6-1, 6-0 winner in the No. 2 singles flight. 

After a close 6-4 win in the first set of the No. 3 singles match, Kondapaneni was met with little resistance and picked up a 6-0 win and a victory. Juozas Cioladis added to his strong first collegiate season with a 6-0, 6-3 win in the No. 4 flight. 

Zhang continued his dominance for the Owls with a 6-1 victory in the first set of the No. 5 flight followed by a 6-3 winner. Finally, Rakkan Audeh capped off a great outing for Kenyon with a 6-0, 6-1 win in the No. 6 flight. 

The Owls record improved to 6-0 on the season. Kenyon will be back on the courts on Monday, March 10 at 11:00 am against Carthage College.
