Box Score GAMBIER, OHIO– The Kenyon College women's tennis team opened its 2025-26 campaign this past weekend by hosting the two-day Kenyon Invitational, welcoming strong competition from Denison University, Carnegie Mellon University, and Case Western Reserve University.
On day one, Kenyon found early momentum behind several standout performances in singles. Sophomore
Hana Nouaime impressed with straight-set wins over Case Western's Gabby Lee (6-2, 6-3) and Carnegie Mellon's Allison Hsieh (6-1, 6-3), while first-year
Kiara Komlodi also went unbeaten, defeating Denison's Peyton Oda (6-1, 6-4) and Case Western's Katie Wong (6-1, 6-3). Sophomore
Clare Hudson contributed two more victories, including a convincing (6-2, 6-4) win against Denison's Rafaella Ramos. Other highlights included wins from
Eleni Lazaridou,
Sophia Carling, and first-year
Maya Stolarsky.
In doubles play, Kenyon continued to find success. The pairing of Lazaridou and Nouaime notched a gritty 7-5 win over Case Western's Katalina Wang and Gabi Lee, while Komlodi and Hudson rolled past CW's Emma Thoms and Katie Wong 6-1. Carling and
Elizabeth Ackermann also collected a victory, lifting the Owls to a strong 3-2 mark in doubles on the first day.
Day two brought more tests, but Kenyon's depth continued to shine. Komlodi led the way with one of the biggest wins of the weekend, taking down Carnegie Mellon's Jane Wong in a tight (7-5, 7-6) battle. Nouaime remained steady with another straight-set victory, this time against Denison's Maddie Larsen (6-1, 6-1). Ackermann added a singles win, defeating Denison's Audrey Stanfield (7-5, 6-0).
Doubles play on the second day was highlighted by Lazaridou and Nouaime's 6-3 victory over Oda and Larsen alongside Carling and Ackermann's commanding 6-1 win against Ariana Rodriguez and Anna Leach of Denison.
Up next, the women's tennis team will close out its fall slate by traveling to St. Louis, Missouri on September 19-22 for the ITA Central Region Championship, hosted by Washington University.
