Owls eye fourth straight NCAC Tournament title

GAMBIER, Ohio – With another regular-season title under their belt, the Kenyon College Women's tennis team has its sights set on the ultimate prize, aiming to capture its fourth consecutive North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) tournament title.
 
The Owls closed out the regular season at 16-5 overall and a perfect 7-0 in conference play, riding a five-match winning streak into postseason action. Against nationally ranked competition, Kenyon posted an impressive 7-5 mark, highlighted by a 4-1 victory over No. 7 Carnegie Mellon University on Senior Day.
 
With the regular season complete, the Owls earned the tournament's No. 1 seed, marking their fourth straight NCAC regular-season crown and the program's 23rd overall since the conference began championship play. Kenyon enters the postseason ranked No. 3 in the region and No. 12 nationally.

Kenyon will host the NCAC Tournament, which runs from May 1-3. Opening day action features No. 4 Oberlin College facing No. 5 Ohio Wesleyan University at 11 a.m., followed by No. 3 John Carroll University taking on No. 6 DePauw University at 1:30 p.m. The winner of the Oberlin/Ohio Wesleyan match will advance to face top-seeded Kenyon in Saturday's semifinal at 11 a.m., while the John Carroll/DePauw winner will meet No. 2 Denison University in the second semifinal. The championship match is set for Sunday at 12 p.m.

Looking ahead at potential opponents, Oberlin enters the tournament on a six-match winning streak, holding a 13-5 overall record and a 4-3 mark in conference play. In the teams' previous meeting, Kenyon delivered a 7-0 sweep. Ohio Wesleyan, meanwhile, comes into postseason play at 11-6 overall and 3-4 in NCAC competition. The Owls also handled the Battling Bishops during the regular season, earning another 7-0 victory.
