Kenyon women move to No. 14 in ITA ranking

GILBERT, Ariz. -- The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released earlier this week the NCAA Division III women's computerized team rankings. Within the rankings, the Kenyon College Owls moved up to the No. 14 spot in the national slate and claimed the No. 3 spot in the Central Region.

The Owls, who own a 10-4 overall record, are coming off four matches that they split with ranked opponents. The two wins came against No. 20 Williams College and No. 32 Whitman College, while the two defeats were at the hands of No. 12 John Hopkins University and No. 3 University of Chicago.

In the ITA's previous ranking, which was released on March 25, the Owls held the No. 18 spot in the national poll.

In terms of singles and doubles players rankings, the Owls were well represented, too. The Central Region singles rank had senior Eleni Lazaridou at No. 3 and sophomore Kiara Komlodi at No. 10. Additionally, sophomore Hana Nouaime earned a No. 20 rank.

In the doubles team ranking, the combo of Lazaridou and Nouaime were at No. 1 in the Central Region.

The Owls have a big match coming up tomorrow, when they head to Cleveland to take on the No. 18-ranked Spartans of Case Western Reserve University.
