CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — The final chapter for Kenyon College's top doubles team came Friday afternoon at Champions Tennis Club, as No. 9 Eleni Lazaridou and Hana Nouaime bowed out of the first round of the 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Doubles Championships.
The Owls' No. 1 tandem, recently named the NCAC Doubles Team of the Year, drew a familiar and formidable opening-round opponent in Washington University in St. Louis' No. 1-ranked duo of Eleanor Archer and Caitlin Bui. The matchup marked the third meeting between the two teams, adding another layer to a battle-tested series between two of Division III's premier doubles pairings.
Lazaridou and Nouaime fought to find their rhythm against the nation's top-ranked team, but Archer and Bui were able to grab control early and keep the pressure on throughout the match. The WashU duo took the opening set 6-2 before mirroring the same score in the second, closing out the match with a 6-2, 6-2 decision.
Despite the first-round setback, the match marked the close of a standout partnership for Kenyon's top-flight pair. Lazaridou and Nouaime wrapped up the 2025-26 season with a 19-8 overall record, anchoring the Owls at No. 1 doubles while going undefeated in NCAC play. Their steady play at the top of the lineup helped power Kenyon through another conference championship season and back onto the national stage.
Together, the duo finished their time as a tandem with a 34-13 overall record, leaving behind a résumé highlighted by national rankings, conference dominance, and consistent production against some of the strongest teams in Division III.
