Three Owls earn All-America standing

NORMAN, Okla. – The second, third and honorable mention 2026 Division III PING All-America teams were announced Thursday by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). Among those earning positions as honorable mention selections were Kenyon College junior Jonathan Oakes, as well as sophomores Connor Gray and Adrian Jordan.

The All-America honorable mention is the third in as many years for Oakes, while Gray and Jordan are first-time recipients. Over the last nine seasons, the Kenyon program has had five golfers combine to earn seven All-America honors. This year's total of three All-America winners is the best single-season count in program history.

Kenyon, as a team, played in nine regular-season tournaments and logged five top-five finishes. At the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Championship, the Owls claimed third place before going on to the NCAA Division III Championship in Florida, where they tied for sixth place, the best national championship showing for Kenyon golf.

Oakes played in all 34 rounds for Kenyon this past season and led the team with a 73.41 scoring average. He had three top-10 individual finishes, completed the NCAC Championship in third place and the NCAA Championship in a tie for 57th place. He's a two-time NCAC Player of the Year and a three-time winner of CGAA All-Region and All-America awards. According to Scoreboard Powered by clippd, Oakes finished the season ranked as the No. 43 golfer in NCAA Division III and the No. 8 golfer within the region.

Gray had a breakout in 2026. The second-year team member pushed Oakes all season long for the team's top scoring average, falling just one stroke shy of that spot. Gray played in all 34 rounds and posted a 73.44 scoring average. Scoreboard has him ranked at No. 46 nationally, and at No. 9 regionally. He had a pair of top-10 individual finishes throughout the season, including a tie for eighth place at the conference championship. He placed 41st at the national championship and concluded the season with his first career All-NCAC, All-Region, and All-America awards.

Jordan saved his best for last. At the NCAA Championship, he flirted with the top spot for a couple days before finishing in a tie for third place in the field of 225 golfers. That finish was the best ever by a Kenyon golfer in NCAA Championship play. Throughout the year, he put up a 73.91 scoring average with two top-10 finishes. Prior to his impressive performance on the national stage, he placed 15th at the conference championship and then concluded his year with No. 60 and No. 13 spots in Scoreboard's national and regional rankings, respectively.

The GCAA's All-America first team included nine golfers and was announced shortly after the NCAA Championship. Both the second- and third-team selections featured eight golfers, while 28 were tabbed honorable mentions.
